The Simpsons' Couch Gag by Akhilla The Simpsons' Couch Gag by Akhilla
I've been watching Simpsons, trying to watch all episodes... not easy, 20 seasons o.o'

But I'm doing fine... only 8 seasons to go i.i

Vacations kick ass =D

I always loved that couch gag... It's genious

Then, I've imagined two of the most famous cartoon families on TV nowadays coming together on the gag

Family Guy has numerous gags about the Simpsons (the one about Stewie in his tricycle running over Homer) but the other way arround never happened

well, I believe in one episode homer looks in a dictionary/encyclopedia or whatever and it shows Peter Griffin as a plagerist.

This would be an excellent couch gag.

Just making a joke. Basically ppl have been saying that Family guy as been stealing jokes from the simpsons, and there have been one or two times I could agree with them

Yeah, no doubt there... i'd have to say simpsons had great jokes, that FG 'stole' and took to the next level. But later, simpson also copy some of FG humour, it became a bit spicier than usual. Simpsons used to be pretty innocent xD

Well... The other way around DID happen in the episode when the Simpsons go to Italy to get a car for Mr. Burns.
Searching for a garage (the car gets smashed up by Mortadella...XD) the find a village. The mayor is Sideshow Bob...XD (I'm talking too much :blahblah:)
I one scene, there is a book opened showing a page with a photo of Homer, a photo of Peter (Family Guy) on the next page and a photo of the "American Dad"-guy on the page after that...

Even though I am in no way a fan of Family Guy, I have to admit it is funny to see these two shows crossover into one. Great job! I have always been a fan of the early seasons of the series and one of the funniest couch gags was in season 4 when Simpsons came running in and found the Flinstones sitting there which before the Simpsons had been been the longest running cartoon show in history.

Oh, yeah, I've actually heard about that... I think Seth McFarlane talked about this in a deleted scene from Family Guy, when Quagmire seduces Marge Simpson... He was saying they had to delete it because Fox censored it pretty hard...

Yeah, it's not like that itself is a bad joke, and all, but afterwards, there's a scene with the entire Simpsons family, Quagmire red handed, and a shotgun...
Seriously, it's awful, you just thank god they actually censored it... it was bad taste, even for Family Guy standards
I think if you type Quagmire + Simpsons in youtube, you can find it...

It's no big deal, no nudity, violence or anything... it's agressive, almost like a brutal vengeance on the Simpsons...
Pretty unnecessary, that's all
After all, Simpsons are not by any chance forgotten by the fans, you know...

Homer's still a nice guy... damn, he made me cry a couple of times when i was a kid, specially in his episodes with Maggie

Thanks a lot! =D

Actually, in one Treehouse of Horror, there was a part where Homer clones himself to get out of working. But he clones to many times, and they are all homer clones execept for two; the early him from the Tracy Ulman show, and of course, Peter Griffin.

In recent years, Peter got to be a lot more ignorant and Homer got a lot nicer.
Sad thing is, Peter is WAAY better ignorant.

Honestly, I coudn't tell...

I'd say Family Guy can be funnier, but the Simpsons is smarter in a way, it's got all those great characters...

Tough match... I'll have to think it over o.o'

What's yours?

lol similar story for me. XD

Family Guy is edgier and a bit more raw in humour.
They (imo) have deeper jokes: politics, race, religion
etc those jokes are better written.

But Simpsons is better for the family and generally easier
to follow. Plus Homer pwns! =D

Overall, it's a hard choice. I'm a fan of both. =3

Yeah, I think Family Guy was pioneer in that kind of ultra-ofensive humour, gotta give'm credits for having the guts...

It's really hard... but I discovered something awesome in an episode of Simpsons, and it has a lot to do with this deviation... try watching episode 14x01, treehouse of horror 13... it has a reeeealy funny scene on the first scarry story (about clones). It's just there for a few seconds, but it's genious!
